Discussion Regarding A/V Equipment Upgrade at Library & Marina Community Center <br />M. Goralka provided an update on the A/V Equipment upgrade project. <br /> <br />Priorities: Budgets - 1) Audio Improvements, 2) Visual Improvements, 3) Miscellaneous <br />Improvements <br /> <br />M. Goralka reviewed the bid alternative for each room: <br /> <br />·Karp/Estudillo Room: Currently within budget; with 25% contingency in the construction <br />budget. Presently at 30% design level. Bring your own device interface is desired by <br />staff. Technology changes rapidly so there is a need to install the latest devices and <br />with as many options as possible. <br /> <br /> <br />·Titan Auditorium MCC: Currently carries a 25% contingency. Base bid items are within <br />budget; however, alternative bid items may not be covered under current budget. The <br />consultant recommended adding sound insulation/acoustic paneling, but that may exceed <br />the budget. Next step, meet with consultants and staff on final design and to prepare <br />final bid documents in the spring. Bid in the summer and build at the end of the year. <br />City Engineer Nick Thom emphasized that we can get bids on all alternatives and Council <br />will have final decision on awarded scope. <br /> <br />Recommendations: The committee requested staff research floor rentals to provide increased <br />options given the recent removal of the stage. Councilmember Cox requests that staff build in a <br />requirement to have a required training session before use of new A/V equipment. Based on <br />the committee’s inquiry regarding window coverings, staff will explore using PEG funds for <br />additional improvements. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />2.C. Project Updates <br />2.C.2.
