City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: July 17, 2017 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:16-558 ACTION ITEMS <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Keith Cooke <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:Not Applicable <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Approving San Leandro Downtown Parking Management Plan <br />with Staff’s Recommended Short-term Parking Action Plans <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro Downtown Parking management Plan was funded by the <br />Sustainable Communities Technical Assistance Program (SC-TAP) of the Alameda County <br />Transportation Commission (ACTC; and <br />WHEREAS, the goal of the Downtown Parking Management Plan is to improve parking <br />utilization by understanding parking policies impact user groups in Downtown San Leandro <br />and to adopt a strategy that will enhance future land-use and economic development <br />decisions; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council provided comments and feedback on the draft Downtown <br />Parking Management Plan at its Council Work Session on May 23, 2016; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of the Downtown Parking <br />Management Plan. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That the Downtown Parking Management Plan, including guiding principles, short-term, <br />mid-term, and long-term action plans, is hereby approved; <br />That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to proceed with the short-term <br />action plans, including Refine Organization Structure, Simplify Parking Time Stays, and <br />Residential Parking Permit. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 7/11/2017 <br />696
