City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: July 17, 2017 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:17-399 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Keith Cooke <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION to Authorize the City Manager to Approve a Consulting <br />Services Agreement with NCE for the Design of the Annual Street <br />Overlay/Rehabilitation 2017-18 Project, Project No 2017.0050 for an Amount <br />Not to Exceed $700,000; Authorization for Individual Change Orders Up to <br />10% ($70,000); and Cumulative Change Orders Up to 25% ($175,000) <br />(provides for City Manager's authorization to enter into a CSA with NSE to <br />prepare the surveys and designs for the Annual Street Overlay/Rehabilitation <br />2017-18 Project) <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has indicated that streets are a critical component of the <br />City’s infrastructure and their condition is an important factor in the quality of life for residents <br />and the vitality of local businesses; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the City Budget which contains the Capital <br />Improvement Program and the Annual Street Overlay/Rehabilitation 2017-18 Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has directed the City Manager and his designees to <br />improve the conditions of the streets. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That said City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to reject all of said <br />proposals except that herein mentioned; negotiate, approve, and execute the agreement for <br />topographic survey and civil engineering design services with NCE for an Amount not to <br />exceed $700,000; and <br />That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to negotiate and approve individual <br />change orders or amendments to the consulting services agreement up to $70,000, which is <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 7/11/2017 <br />472
