The <br />City of San Leandro Fiber-Optic Master Plan will contain the blueprint for development of City infrastructure <br />to interconnect all corridors with one another, serve municipal and community needs, support economic <br />development, support identified smart city initiatives, provide policy and connectivity for leveraging light <br />pole assets for new revenue opportunities and prepare the City for the gigabit generation. The report will <br />include how San Leandro can use the broadband network and prepare itself for emerging technologies, <br />including drones, driverless cars, advanced robotics, and mobile hotspots. We will work with you to refine <br />this plan so it is 100% representative of your stakeholders needs and has a high degree of relevance to <br />your community. The Master Plan will function as the guidebook for fiber-optic development across the City <br />and will include all information necessary for San Leandro to begin expanding its broadband wired and <br />wireless networks, implementing smart city applications, connecting more businesses for economic <br />development, implementing best practice governance and policy for broadband operations and leveraging <br />traffic signal and street light poles for generating new revenue from dark fiber and pole attachment leases <br />from 5G wireless microcell sites.
