City Council Goals for the Year 2000 <br />Project Name: Auto Mall Expansion <br />Project Description: Continue the Auto Mall to completion by developing the following sites <br />with new car dealerships to create additional revenue for the City. Currently there are five <br />identified sites. <br />Vision/Opportunities: Continuation of the Marina Square Auto Center project will allow the <br />City of San Leandro to maximize the use of vacant and undeveloped parcels along Marina <br />Boulevard. It will also protect the City's $13 million infrastructure investment in the Marina <br />Boulevard road widening and utility under -grounding project by ensuring that the Auto Mall is <br />large enough to have a regional draw. It also will complete an important entryway to the City <br />from Interstate 880. <br />Constraints: This project is market-driven and requires a partnership with the private sector. <br />Timeline: Timelines for each site will vary. <br />Performance Indicators/Identifiable Milestones: Identifiable progress on at least one site. <br />Fiscal Impacts: Each of the five sites will generate additional sales tax revenue for the City. <br />Depending on the site, the additional revenue ranges from $50,000 to $150,000 per site. <br />g:\deptlohn\cmeval4opooso- U0 py.doc 1 rev. 12/15/99 <br />
