City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: September 5, 2017 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:17-486 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Keith Cooke <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Approving a Consulting Services Agreement with BKF Engineers <br />for On-Call Engineering Plan Check, City Surveyor, Land Surveying and <br />Engineering Inspection Services in an Amount Not-to-Exceed $300,000 for <br />Three Years <br />WHEREAS, the Engineering and Transportation Department Project Development and <br />Land Development Divisions provide engineering services for public projects and private land <br />development projects; and <br />WHEREAS, the Engineering and Transportation Department seeks to provide timely and <br />efficient service to residents, visitors, other City departments, and private land developers; and <br />WHEREAS, staff issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking civil engineering and <br />land surveying consulting firms to assist with engineering projects as needed; and <br />WHEREAS, after reviewing RFQ responses from eight consultants, staff recommends that <br />BKF Engineers should be one of three consultants to be retained to provide on-call consulting <br />services in an amount not to exceed $300,000 for a period of three years; and <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to enter <br />into a Consulting Services Agreement between the City and BKF Engineers, copies of which are <br />attached and presented to this City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, a blanket purchase order will be requested for the Consultant. Consultant <br />costs will be charged either to projects in the Capital Improvement Program, or as a direct cost to <br />land developers applying for entitlements or permits; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 8/28/2017 <br />306
