OAK Noise Program HistoryFor more than 40 years, the Port of Oakland has made continuous efforts todevelop a program that minimizes noise on surrounding communities atOakland International Airport.The Airport continues to meet with the cities and community to seek ways tobalance all concerns -- noise and other environmental issues, consumer andair carrier demands, economic opportunities, and regional transportationneeds -- while maintaining safety as its number one priority. Pilot educationhas also been, and will continue to be, an important part of the Airport'snoise abatement program.The Airport Noise Office serves as a link between the public and aviation stakeholders.
