Policy/Action1 Description of Activity 1 Accomplishments <br />Responsible City Staff, Department or I in FY 2616-17 <br />Policy 4: Support Local Fair Housing Activities and Services <br />The Al finds that fair housing is an ongoing concern in the HOME Consortium jurisdictions. In particular, interviews with local <br />service providers indicate that many homeseekers and landlords are unaware of federal and state fair housing laws. They also <br />remain unfamiliar with protections offered to seniors, disabled, and other special needs populations, as well as families and <br />protected classes. Each of the HOME Consortium jurisdictions currently undertakes a series of fair housing activities, with the <br />primary focus being ongoing outreach and education on fair housing rights for homeseekers, landlords, lenders, and agents. The <br />following actions highlight the need to continue these efforts. <br />Action 4.1: Conduct ongoingfair housing The HOME Consortium jurisdictions <br />outreach and education. shall continue to contract with fair <br />housing service providers to educate <br />home seekers, landlords, property <br />managers, real estate agents, and <br />lenders regarding fair housing law and <br />recommended practices. Outreach <br />will occur via training sessions, public <br />events, jurisdictions' websites and <br />other media outlets, staffing at <br />service providers' offices, and <br />multilingual flyers available in a <br />variety public locations. <br />Fair Housing Matrix -pg 07 <br />CAPER <br />OMB Control No: 2506-0117 (exp. 06/30/2018) <br />Fair Housing Outreach: There were 4 radio <br />interviews conducted. <br />Fair Housing Education: There were 2 <br />trainings for tenants and first time <br />homebuyers; 7 presentations to property <br />management companies, 1 FH Education <br />seminar various tenant advocates and <br />other housing industry representatives. <br />There were 2 trainings to rair Housing <br />testers with a total of 8 testers trained. <br />
