IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2017-143 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF ASSET FORFEITURE <br /> FUND BALANCE TO THE FEDERAL AND STATE ASSET FORFEITURE FUND <br /> OPERATING EXPENDITURES BUDGET FOR 2017-2018 <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department has multiple projects that require funding from the <br /> Asset Forfeiture Fund; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Asset Forfeiture Fund account is a special reserve account to fund <br /> police-specific needs, like equipment, supplies, or services that comply with Department of <br /> Justice Guidelines; and <br /> WHEREAS,this appropriation of funds will supply police officers with the equipment, <br /> supplies, and services necessary for law enforcement that are not currently budgeted in the <br /> General Fund. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE that <br /> appropriations from the Asset Forfeiture fund shall be as follows: <br /> 1. $50,000 handgun replacement and related equipment—Federal Asset Forfeiture; <br /> 2. $50,000 to upgrade current Automated License Plate Reader technology—Federal Asset <br /> Forfeiture <br /> 3. $35,000 to purchase two used, undercover vehicles for the Investigations Division <br /> Federal Asset Forfeiture; <br /> 4. $5,000 for evidence technician cameras and related photographic accessories—Federal <br /> Asset Forfeiture; <br /> 5. $30,000 furniture and equipment for field and office employees—Federal Asset <br /> Forfeiture; <br /> 6. $10,000 for professional development to send at least one police manager to the Police <br /> Executive Research Forum (PERF) Federal Asset Forfeiture; <br /> 7. $5,000 for gym equipment—Federal Asset Forfeiture; <br /> 8. $25,000 to purchase technology for Crime and Intelligence Unit—State Asset Forfeiture; <br /> 1H <br />
