City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: November 20, 2017 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:17-665 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION Declaring Twenty-One (21) Vehicles, Two (2) Pieces of <br />Equipment, and Other Miscellaneous Parts as Surplus and Authorizing the Sale <br />Thereof at Public Auction (approves the public auction for the surplus of said <br />vehicles and equipment) <br />WHEREAS, Section 1-6-500 of the San Leandro Municipal Code authorizes the City’s <br />Purchasing Agent to sell equipment which has become unsuitable or unnecessary for the City <br />purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, twenty-one (21) vehicles, two (2) pieces of equipment, and other <br />miscellaneous parts have been identified as no longer useful to City operations and therefore <br />should be declared surplus and sold at auction; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro and San Lorenzo Unified School Districts have been <br />contacted and have expressed no interest in obtaining any of the vehicles. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />Following public notice as may be required by law and in accordance with Section 1-6-500 <br />of the San Leandro Municipal Code the declaration of surplus and authorization of the sale of <br />twenty-one (21) vehicles, two (2) pieces of equipment, and other miscellaneous parts at public <br />auction by U.S. Auctions is scheduled for Friday December 1, 2017. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 11/13/2017 <br />239
