City Council Handbook | 2017 <br /> <br /> <br />13 San Leandro City Council <br />SECTION III AGENDA <br />ORDER OF BUSINESS <br />The following shall constitute the order of business to be followed in conducting regular meetings of the <br />Council: <br />Call to Order <br />Pledge of Allegiance <br />Roll Call <br />Announcements <br />Public Comments <br />Presentations/Recognitions <br />Public Hearings <br />Joint Public Hearings <br />City Manager/City Attorney Report and Comments <br />Amendment of Consent Calendar <br />Consent Calendar <br />Items Removed from Consent Calendar <br />Action Items <br />City Council Reports and Announcements <br />Adjourn <br />The order of business may be changed if deemed appropriate by the Mayor and a majority of the <br />Council agrees. <br />AMENDED AGENDA <br />The Brown Act prohibits the City Council from discussing or taking action on an item not <br />appearing on the posted agenda. The Act provides three specific exceptions in which the Council <br />can act on an item not on the agenda: <br /> When a majority of the Council decides there is an “emergency situation”. <br />51
