IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH <br />GLASS ARCHITECTS IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $277,127 FOR THE <br />PREPARATION OF CONSTRUCTION -READY PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND <br />ESTIMATES FOR THE FARRELLY POOL REPLACEMENT, PROJECT NO. 2018.3420; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND APPROVE <br />INDIVIDUAL CHANGE ORDERS UP TO 10% (OR $27,713) <br />AND CUMULATIVE CHANGE ORDERS UP TO 25% (OR 569,282) <br />OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT <br />(PROVIDES FOR THE DESIGN OF THE FARRELLY POOL REPLACEMENT) <br />WHEREAS, an agreement between the City of San Leandro and Glass Architects, a copy <br />of which is attached, was presented to this City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, changes to the scope of contracts are at times necessary to respond to new <br />information and/or to include additional items of work necessary for a complete product; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to expedite the delivery of public projects on schedule and on <br />budget, avoid costly delays, and insure that the City completes projects and products that are to <br />the City's highest standards, the City Council finds that providing authorization to negotiate and <br />approve change orders is in the best interest of public health, safety and welfare. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />1. That said agreement is hereby approved in an amount not to exceed $277,127 and <br />execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized; and <br />2. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to negotiate and approve <br />individual change orders up to a maximum of 10% of the original contract amount, or <br />$27,713; and <br />3. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to negotiate and approve <br />cumulative change orders up to a maximum of 25% of the original contract amount, <br />or $69,282; <br />
