IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH GLASS ARCHITECTS IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $277,127 FOR THE PREPARATION OF CONSTRUCTION -READY PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTIMATES FOR THE FARRELLY POOL REPLACEMENT, PROJECT NO. 2018.3420; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND APPROVE INDIVIDUAL CHANGE ORDERS UP TO 10% (OR $27,713) AND CUMULATIVE CHANGE ORDERS UP TO 25% (OR 569,282) OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT (PROVIDES FOR THE DESIGN OF THE FARRELLY POOL REPLACEMENT) WHEREAS, an agreement between the City of San Leandro and Glass Architects, a copy of which is attached, was presented to this City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement; and WHEREAS, changes to the scope of contracts are at times necessary to respond to new information and/or to include additional items of work necessary for a complete product; and WHEREAS, in order to expedite the delivery of public projects on schedule and on budget, avoid costly delays, and insure that the City completes projects and products that are to the City's highest standards, the City Council finds that providing authorization to negotiate and approve change orders is in the best interest of public health, safety and welfare. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: 1. That said agreement is hereby approved in an amount not to exceed $277,127 and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized; and 2. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to negotiate and approve individual change orders up to a maximum of 10% of the original contract amount, or $27,713; and 3. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to negotiate and approve cumulative change orders up to a maximum of 25% of the original contract amount, or $69,282;
