Summary <br />Improvements to the South Office building for Police Department use and reconfiguration of the Public Safety <br />Building. <br />Description <br />Design and construct the approved option (option A) from conceptual plans prepared by Indigo Architecture in 2014 <br />generally consisting of the following: A build out of the South office building, excluding the theater space, for use as <br />office space by the Police Department. A reconfiguration of the Public Safety Building to expand the dispatch center. <br />The total project cost is estimated at $7,100,000. $208,000 was appropriated in FY 2015-16 and $2,116,983 was <br />appropriated in FY 2016-17; $4,775,017 in additional appropriations is needed to fully fund this project. <br />Justification or Benefit of Project <br />This project will improve public access to the Police Department, ADA accessibility, reliability of the electrical and <br />HVAC systems, building security, dispatch equipment and operations. <br />Consequences of not doing the Project <br />Without this project deficiencies in public access, ADA access, electrical and HVAC systems, building security, and <br />dispatch equipment will remain.
