Create a new source of substantial light or <br />glare that would adversely affect daytime <br />or nighttime views in the area? □ □ ■ □ <br />Existing Setting <br />The project site is located at the corner of Alvarado Street and Aladdin Avenue in an urbanized, <br />industrial area of San Leandro. The site is surrounded by other industrial and commercial facilities, <br />including a freight shipping facility, a paper product manufacturer, and a door supplier. Surrounding <br />development consists primarily of one- to two-story commercial and industrial buildings. Views of <br />the project site from surrounding areas are limited as the project site is almost entirely surrounded <br />by other industrial and commercial buildings. No scenic views are available through the project site. <br />Views toward the hills are distant and are generally blocked by existing buildings from street-level <br />viewpoints. The project site is not visible from the closest residences, which are approximately <br />1,500 feet away to the northeast, nor is the site visible from Interstate 880 (I-880) approximately <br />2,000 feet to the southwest. Public views are limited to those from Aladdin Avenue and Alvarado <br />Street, both adjacent to the project site. The project site currently is developed with warehouse <br />buildings, parking areas, and landscaping. Photographs of existing site conditions are provided in <br />figures 3 and 4. <br />310
