City of San Leandro Alvarado Commerce Center Project
54
e. For a project located within an airport land use plan or, where such a plan has not been
adopted, within two miles of a public airport or public use airport, would the project result in a
safety hazard for people residing or working in the project area?
f. For a project near a private airstrip, would it result in a safety hazard for people residing or
working in the project area?
The nearest airport to the site is the Oakland International Airport, which is located 3 miles to the
west. Although the project site is located inside the Oakland International Airport Influence Area,
the project site is not located inside any of the eight Safety Compatibility Zones (Oakland
International Airport 2010).The project would not subject persons working at the site, and there
would be no impact from potential air traffic safety risks.
NO IMPACT
g. Would the project impair implementation of or physically interfere with an adopted emergency
response plan or emergency evacuation plan?
The project does not involve the development of structures that could potentially impair
implementation of or physically interfere with an adopted emergency response plan or emergency
evacuation plan. No streets or property access points would be closed, rerouted, or substantially
altered during or after construction. Impacts would be less than significant impact.
LESS THAN SIGNIFICANT IMPACT
h. Would the project expose people or structures to a significant risk of loss, injury, or death
involving wildland fires, including where wildlands are adjacent to urbanized areas or where
residences are intermixed with wildlands?
The project site is located in a developed industrial area that is surrounded by industrial uses and no
adjacent wildlands or densely vegetated areas are located in the area that would represent a
significant fire hazard. The project site is not located in wildfire hazard severity zone (San Leandro
2016f). Therefore, the project would not expose people or structures to significant risk of loss,
injury, or death involving wildland fires. There would be no impact.
NO IMPACT
351
