City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: June 18, 2018 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:18-216 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Chris Zapata <br />City Manager <br />BY:Tom Liao <br />Community Development Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Approve Consulting <br />Services Agreements for Third Party Plan Check Services Between the City of <br />San Leandro and 4Leaf, Inc. for $50,000; and Between the City of San Leandro <br />and TRB+Associates for $150,000 <br />WHEREAS, agreements between the City of San Leandro and 4Leaf, Inc., and between <br />the City of San Leandro and TRB+Associates, copies of which are attached, have been <br />presented to this City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, amendments to the agreement to clarify the work or respond to atypical <br />existing conditions are a normal aspect of public contracting and procurement of services; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to expedite the third party plan check projects on schedule and on <br />budget, provide that the consultants are paid in a timely fashion, avoid as much as possible costly <br />delay claims, and ensure that the City completes projects according to the City’s highest <br />standards, the City Council finds that providing authorization to the City Manager or his or her <br />designee to negotiate amendments to the consulting services agreement is in the best interest of <br />public welfare; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreements. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That said agreements expiring June 30, 2020 are hereby approved and execution thereof <br />is hereby authorized for third party plan check services provided by two (2) qualified firms as <br />provided in the associated staff report; and <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 6/12/2018 <br />265
