It should be noted that the actual speed tested may not be <br />entirely accurate as some may have measured their speed with a Wi-Fi connection. <br /> <br />In general, most respondents are receiving other services from their broadband provider. <br />In addition to traditional internet services, more and more households are turning to ISPs <br />for complementary phone and TV services. In many cases, these are the result of <br />“bundles” offered by service providers. These bundles typically include telephone and <br />television services, alongside internet service. <br /> <br />Increasingly, television is being consumed on-demand, streamed, and accessed away <br />from traditional scheduled broadcast programming. Services such as Netflix, Sling, Hulu, <br />Roku, YouTube TV, Amazon, and others increasingly deliver their content via the internet <br />for a small monthly access fee. Even traditional broadcasters, such as CBS or ABC, or <br />sports networks, such as ESPN, have introduced subscription services, where content <br />can be accessed directly. All of these services deliver their content via broadband <br />internet, where they can be consumed on smart TVs, smart phones, or any internet- <br />connected device. <br /> <br />Survey responses indicated that these trends are also present among the residents of <br />San Leandro. Of the households responding, only 14% indicated they did not stream <br /> <br />59 Ookla, a global leader in internet testing, data and analysis, provides a speed test that measures internet performance and network <br />diagnostics. Using this test, bandwidth speeds were tested among survey respondents to identify true broadband speeds.
