City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: November 19, 2018 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:18-536 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Jeff Kay <br />City Manager <br />BY:Jeff Tudor <br />Chief of Police <br />FINANCE REVIEW:David Baum <br />Finance Director <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Authorize the <br />Appropriation of $93,000 from Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund <br />(SLESF) Balance to the SLESF Operating Expenditures budget for 2018-2019. <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department has multiple projects it needs to fund with money from <br />the SLESF (aka “Frontline”) Fund; and <br />WHEREAS, the “Frontline” Fund account is a special reserve account to fund <br />police-specific needs, such as equipment, supplies, or services that comply with the State of <br />California’s Grant Guidelines; and <br />WHEREAS, this appropriation of funds will supply police officers with the equipment, <br />supplies, and services necessary to advance public safety that are not currently budgeted in the <br />General Fund as outlined in the associated staff report. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE; <br />That SLESF (“Frontline”) appropriations are approved as follows: <br />1.$25,000 to continue the department’s wellness initiatives (150-21-011-5120); <br />2.$3,000 to send staff to the Crisis Intervention National Conference in Dallas, Texas (150- <br />21-011-5510); <br />3.$10,000 to send a Police Captain to the Cal-Chief’s Leadership Development course <br />(150-21-011-5510); <br />4.$25,000 to purchase Patrol equipment and supplies (150-21-011-6272); <br />5.$30,000 for replacement of equipment for the department’s Hostage Negotiation Team <br />(HNT) (150-21-011-7410) <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 11/13/2018
