No wildlands are located on the project site, and the site is not within or adjacent to a designated fire hazard severity zone (Cal Fire 2007). The project would also <br />comply with all relevant fire safety regulations. Therefore, there would be no impact. <br />Mitigation Measures <br />MM HAZ-1 Prior to demolition of existing structures on the project site, asbestos-containing <br />materials and lead-based paint surveys shall be conducted to determine the presence of hazardous building materials and results of those surveys shall be <br />provided prior to the issuance of demolition or building permits. Should <br />asbestos-containing materials, lead-based paint, or other hazardous substance–containing building materials be identified, these materials shall be removed using proper techniques in compliance with all applicable state and <br />federal regulations, including the BAAQMD rule related to asbestos. <br />Timing/Implementation: Prior to issuance of building permits <br />Enforcement/Monitoring: City of San Leandro Community Development <br />Department <br /> <br />
