10/6/18
Anonymous caller with comments re: 10/22/18 Rules Committee Meeting regulating Mobile Home
Parks.
They said that when the City discusses rent control of mobile home parks, the City Council should
consider including in the legislation language about any existing agreements put in place that nullifies
any legislation that gets passed. The caller lives in a mobile home park and said that their experience
since she has heard about this meeting on 10/22/18, is that mobile home park owners are trying to get
people to sign long-term (25-year) leases for their spaces. The caller believes that these leases are being
pushed by owners and management to be signed before residents know about this meeting/possible
legislation and are to the mobile home park resident’s disadvantage. The resident believes that the
ordinance should give the option of voiding any agreements made with an effective date prior to
10/1/18.
Exhibit B: Mobilehome Rent Stabilization Public Comments Received as of February 25, 2019
