City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: April 1, 2019 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:19-141 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Jeff Kay <br />City Manager <br />BY:Keith Cooke <br />Engineering & Transportation Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:Not Applicable <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION of the City of San Leandro City Council to Appoint Members to <br />the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee <br />WHEREAS, bicycle and pedestrian travel are tangible symbols of the concept of a <br />sustainable community as they enhance local environmental quality through the reduction of traffic <br />congestion, vehicle exhaust emissions, noise and energy consumption; and <br />WHEREAS, to maximize bicycle and pedestrian travel, it is essential that planning for <br />these transportation modes be integrated in all City transportation improvement projects <br />whenever feasible; and <br />WHEREAS, a consistent and systematic review process within a public forum must be <br />followed to ensure that bicycle and pedestrian issues are addressed and options developed in a <br />timely fashion for network expansion; and <br />WHEREAS, the following members of the community are advocates for bicycle and <br />pedestrian issues in the City, and are therefore well-qualified to serve on the City’s Bicycle and <br />Pedestrian Advisory Committee: <br />·Donna Chang (Council District 5) <br />·Angela Hoang (Council District 6) <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br />That said, City Council hereby appoints the aforementioned members to the Bicycle and <br />Pedestrian Advisory Committee. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 3/26/2019
