IN THE CITY COUNCIL OFTFIF CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2019-092 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO ACCEPT AND <br />AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE <br />DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE'S EDWARD BYRNE JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) <br />AWARD OF $31,599 AND TO APPROPRIATE -THESE FUNDS FOR PROCURING UNMANNED <br />AERIAL SYSTEM (UAS) PROGRAM EQUIPMENT <br />WHEREAS, the Edward Byrne JAG program is administered by the U.S. Department Of Justice, <br />Office Of Justice Programs and was created in 2005 by merging the Edward Byrne Memorial Grant <br />Program (Byrne) with the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Program (LLEBG); and <br />WHEREAS, Edward Byrne JAG funding can be used to Support a broad range of state and local <br />government police projects, including those designed to prevent and control crime and to improve the <br />crirninaIjustice system; and <br />WHEREAS, on November 18th, 2018, the Police Department Submitted a request for grant <br />funding through the County of Alameda for Edward Byrne JAG funding to enhance the department's UAS <br />program with additional equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Sl -,PD was awarded Department Ol.'JLIStiCe (I. OJ) funding of $31,599 for the <br />project proposed less $1,579.95 for administrative fees paid to Alameda County Sheriff's Office 161 - <br />managing of this grant. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br />That City Council accepts and the City Manager is authorized to execute all documents related to <br />the Department Of Justice's JAG award for technology improvements totaling $31,599; and <br />0 That an appropriation of the DOJ JAG funding of $31,599 to account No. 150-21-057 is approved. <br />Introduced by COUncilrnember Ballew and passed and adopted this 20th day of May 2019, by the <br />following vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Ballew, Hernandez, Lee, Lopez; Mayor Cutter (5) <br />NOES: COUricilmernber Aguilar <br />ABSENT: Councifi-nember Cox <br />A'TTF'S'F: <br />1e�cia 'M1"uI.,'C`i-CA"lerk <br />, Ige <br />
