File Number: 19-280 <br />d) Dwelling, Multi-Family. A building containing three (3) or more dwelling units. <br />e) Dwelling, Secondary Unit also means an “Accessory dwelling unit” (ADU), which is an <br />attached or detached residential dwelling unit which provides complete independent living <br />facilities for one or more persons. ADUs shall include permanent provisions for living, <br />sleeping, eating, cooking, and sanitation on the same parcel as a single-family dwelling is <br />situated. <br />f) Dwelling, Single-Family. A building containing one (1) dwelling unit. <br />g) “Dwelling Unit” means one room, or a series of rooms that provides not more than one <br />kitchen and one or more bathrooms, and is intended for occupancy by a single <br />housekeeping unit. An individual dwelling unit is characterized by a single main pedestrian <br />entry, with all other points of entry being visually subordinate, and an interior stairway <br />provided between all stories. <br />h) “Bedroom” means a room used for sleeping, living, or dining purposes, excluding <br />enclosed places (e.g., closets, pantries, bath or toilet rooms, service rooms, rooms without <br />windows for egress, connecting corridors, laundries, unfinished attics, foyers, storage <br />spaces, garages, cellars, utility rooms and similar spaces). <br />SECTION FOUR. TERMINATION OF TEMPORARY LAND USE MORATORIUM <br />Upon the effective date of San Leandro Municipal Code Chapter 4-40 and Chapter 4-41, <br />whichever is earlier, Ordinance No. 2018-017 shall automatically expire and have no further force <br />or effect. <br />SECTION FIVE. SEVERABILITY. <br />The City Council hereby declares that every section, paragraph, clause and phrase of this <br />Ordinance is severable. If, for any reason, any section, paragraph, clause or phrase is held to be <br />invalid or unconstitutional, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or <br />constitutionality of the remaining sections, paragraphs, clauses or phrases. <br />SECTION SIX. EFFECTIVE DATE AND POSTING. <br />This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after adoption.
