E MERGENCY M EDICAL S ERVICES F IRST R ESPONDER A DVANCED L IFE S UPPORT A GREEMENT (7 /1/201 9 ) <br />iv <br />MEDICAL PRIORITY DISPATCH <br />SYSTEM (“MPDS”) <br />A system approved by the County EMS Medical Director that categorizes emergency calls <br />using an escalating scale of severity assigned to medical conditions, relative to the level and <br />timeliness of response. <br />MULTI-CASUALTY INCIDENT <br />(“MCI”) <br />A Multi-Casualty Incident (MCI) is any incident where the number of injured persons exceeds <br />the day-to-day operating capabilities and requires additional resources and/or the <br />distribution of patients to multiple hospitals. <br />MUTUAL-AID Emergency service performed by neighboring providers d uring periods of severe weather, <br />multi-casualty incidents, or other events that overwhelm existing resources. <br />PARAMEDIC As defined in California Health and Safety Code, Division 2.5, §1797.84. <br />PCR Patient Care Report, in electronic form. <br />PRIMARY SERVICE AREA <br />The City jurisdictional limit or area(s) for which the responding agency is responsible to <br />provide emergency response. See EXHIBIT A FOR A DESCRIPTION OF THE CITY'S PRIMARY SERVICE <br />AREA. <br />RESPONSE TIME The time elapsed from the time a call is received by the response unit from the dispatch <br />center, until arrival at the incident location by the FRALS. <br />QUALITY IMPROVEMENT As defined in the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Chapter 12 and EMSA #166: EMS <br />System Quality Improvement Guidelines. <br />STATE The State of California, its departments and/or agencies. <br />658
