IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2019-104 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONSULTING SERVICES <br />AGREEMENT WITH TOWNSEND PUBLIC AFFAIRS FOR STATE LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY <br />SERVICES, TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE AGREEMENT THROUGH JUNE 30, 2020 AT <br />THE SAME RATE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $60,000 ANNUALLY <br />WHEREAS, on February 18, 2014, the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into a one- <br />year agreement for $60,000 between the City of San Leandro and Townsend Public Affairs (TPA), for the <br />provision of state level advocacy services; and <br />WHEREAS, on February 17, 2015, February 16, 2016, February 21, 2017, and June 18, 2018, based <br />on TPA's satisfactory performance, the City Council directed the City Manager to extend that agreement at <br />the same rate; and <br />WHEREAS, since the last contract extension in June 2018, Townsend Public Affairs has provided <br />the City Council and the City's administration with excellent service representing the City of San Leandro's <br />interests at the State level; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to extend the term of its existing agreement with Townsend <br />Public Affairs through June 30, 2020 at the same rate, in an amount not to exceed $60,000; and <br />WHERAS, a corresponding appropriation for this proposed agreement is already incorporated into <br />the proposed Fiscal Year 2019-2021 budget; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement.. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br />That said amendment to the agreement is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby <br />authorized. <br />Introduced by COUnCilmeniber Cox and passed and adopted this 17th day of June 2019, by the <br />following vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />I <br />AYES: Councilmernbers Aguilar, Ballew, Cox, Hernandez, I-ee, I -open; Mayor Cutter (7) <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />ATTEST: <br />Miguel, City y erk <br />
