City of San Leandro <br />Meeting Date: October 7, 2019 <br />Resolution - Council <br />Agenda Section:File Number:19-520 CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Agenda Number: <br />TO:City Council <br />FROM:Jeff Kay <br />City Manager <br />BY:Jeanette Dong <br />Recreation and Human Services Director <br />FINANCE REVIEW:Not Applicable <br />TITLE:RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of San Leandro Authorizing the City <br />Manager to Approve the Youth Reinvestment Grant (YRG) Program with the <br />Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) to Provide a Total of <br />$985,000 from January 2019 to February 2023 in Grant Funds to the City of San <br />Leandro and San Leandro Unified School District for Youth Services <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro desires to participate in the Youth Reinvestment <br />Grant Program funded through the California State General Fund and administered by the Board <br />of State and Community Corrections (hereafter referred to as BSCC); and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council supports the Youth Reinvestment Grant Program; and <br />WHEREAS, the City supports diversion programs for youth that shifts mindsets from at-risk <br />youth to full-potential youth; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the Youth Reinvestment Grant Program; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said Youth Reinvestment Program. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE that the <br />City Manager is authorized on behalf of the City Council, to submit the grant proposal for this <br />funding and to sign the Grant Agreement with the BSCC including any amendments thereof; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to <br />supplant expenditures controlled by this body; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the San Leandro Unified School District agrees to <br />ensure all matching funds required for the above grant are provided and abide by the terms and <br />conditions of the Grant Agreement as set forth by the BSCC. <br />Page 1 City of San Leandro Printed on 10/2/2019 <br />174
