City Council Public Hearing <br />New Zoning Code Definitions to included in Article 3 <br />April 12, 2004 <br />Liquor Stores. A retail store principally involved in the business of selling alcoholic beverages, including <br />“hard liquor,” for the consumption off the premises where sold. This classification includes stores or <br />facilities that are covered by a State license for “general alcohol sales” (Class 21 ABC license). <br />Beer & Wine Stores. A retail store principally involved in the business of selling alcoholic beverages, <br />excluding “hard liquor,” for the consumption off the premises where sold. This classification includes wine <br />shops or facilities that are covered by a State license for “beer and wine” (Class 20 ABC license). <br />Live-Work. A structure or complex of structures that integrates space for both residential and non- <br />residential uses within individual units. Non-residential uses shall operate to allow the “quiet enjoyment” <br />expectations of neighbors. Such uses should operate with limited noise, odor and other similar impacts, <br />consistent with applicable city ordinances. Ratios between the residential and non-residential uses may <br />be established as part of staff review. <br />Social Services – Drop In Center. A use that is operated by an organization that provides a variety of <br />free services or goods to the community on a drop-in basis. Uses usually consist of “walk-in” clientele that <br />utilize the facilities on a limited basis during a 24-hour period. <br /> <br />
