The committee members favored the design option where the existing light <br />poles would be modified to include new pedestrian scale lights, and asked <br />staff to research painting the poles, if said painting may be feasible from a <br />budget and maintenance perspective. <br />3.B.20-009 Staff Report for Discussion on Root Park <br />COMMITTEE REQUESTS/DIRECTION TO STAFF: <br /> None. <br />3.C.20-010 Staff Update on Project Development Projects <br />COMMITTEE REQUESTS/DIRECTION TO STAFF: <br />a. Councilmember Cox inquired about the possibility of increasing project <br />estimates for CIP projects based on recent bid history and/or current labor and <br />materials costs. <br />b. Mayor Cutter would like more information from staff on change orders to <br />contracts when the scope has not changed vs. change orders resulting from <br />modifications to a project’s scope. She requested differentiation between <br />these two types when change orders are brought for the Council’s review and <br />approval. <br />c. Staff will provide a report summarizing change orders to projects over the <br />last two years, as part of the budget process. <br />d. Councilmember Lopez requested that staff investigate the quality of work <br />on current streets projects to ensure that the City is receiving the highest <br />quality construction. <br />3.D.20-011 Staff Update on Land Development Projects <br />STANDING ITEM <br />a. The Councilmembers inquired on the status of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) <br />decorative panels, timeline and project list of work (punch list). <br />Councilmember Lopez would like the agency to host an information meeting <br />about BRT project updates on the corridor with advertisements in local media <br />to provide information and education about how to use BRT.
