SP -25 Priority Needs - 91.415, 91.215(a)(2) <br />Priority Needs <br />Table 13 — Priority Needs Summary <br />1 <br />Priority Need <br />Affordable Housing Needs <br />Name <br />Priority Level <br />High <br />Population <br />Extremely Low <br />Low <br />Moderate <br />Large Families <br />Families with Children <br />Elderly <br />Chronic Homelessness <br />Individuals <br />Families with Children <br />Geographic <br />City -Wide <br />Areas <br />Affected <br />Associated <br />Affordable Housing Needs Goals <br />Goals <br />Description <br />To address the need for affordable housing in the City, the City proposes to take the <br />following actions: <br />• Increase the availability of affordable rental housing for extremely low - <br />(30% AMI), very low- (50% AMI), and low-income (80% AMI) households. <br />• Preserve existing affordable rental housing for households at or below 80% <br />Area Median Income (AMI). <br />• Preserve exisitng ownership for households at or below 80% Area Median <br />Income (AMI). <br />• Assist low- and moderate -income first-time homebuyers. <br />• Reduce housing discrimination. <br />Basis for <br />Documented lack of affordable rental housing in the Alameda County HOME <br />Relative <br />Consortium area. The City historically allocated and will continue allocate CDBG <br />Priority <br />funds primarily to provide fair housing services and preserve affordable housing <br />and HOME funds to potential affordable rental or ownership housing projects, <br />including new construction or acquisition and rehabilitation. <br />Consolidated Plan SAN LEANDRO 32 <br />OMB Control No: 2506-0117 (exp. 06/30/2018) <br />
