RESOLUTION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2020-079 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH TOWNSEND PUBLIC AFFAIRS FOR STATE LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY SERVICES, TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE AGREEMENT THROUGH JUNE 30, 2021 AT THE SAME RATE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $60,000 ANNUALLY WHEREAS on February 18, 2014, the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into a one-year agreement for $60,000 between the City of San Leandro and Townsend Public Affairs (TPA), for the provision of state level advocacy services; and WHEREAS, based on TPA's satisfactory performance, the City Council has directed the City Manager to extend the agreement at the same rate each subsequent year; and WHEREAS, since the last contract extension in June 2019, Townsend Public Affairs has provided the City Council and the City's administration with excellent service representing the City of San Leandro's interests at the State level; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to extend the term of its existing agreement with Townsend Public Affairs through June 30, 2021 at the same rate, in an amount not to exceed $60,000; and WHEREAS, a corresponding appropriation for this proposed agreement is already incorporated into the adopted Fiscal Year 2020-21 budget; and WHEREAS the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That said amendment to the agreement is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized.
