April 30, 2020Disaster Council Minutes <br />childcare and recreation programs, and plans for reopening City facilities and what that <br />will look like. The City contracted with an industrial hygienist and is putting a team <br />together to develop a plan to keep everyone safe. <br />Chief Tudor, San Leandro Police, reported that the Department had responded to over <br />330 calls regarding COVID-related incidents and that officers are trying to educate first <br />and cite as a last resort. The department is also monitoring the call volume, as well as <br />the number of cases within the city, while trying to maintain the safety of employees by <br />instituting protocols and installing Plexiglas barriers. <br />Healthcare Services <br />• Hospitals <br />• Davis Street Family Resource Center <br />• Red Cross <br />• SL Elder Care Alliance <br />2.D. <br />Kaiser Hospital is looking at the CDC guidelines and preparing for what the county will <br />be putting out and they are still seeing patients. The first week in May is Nurses <br />week. <br />Davis Street Family Resource Center distributed groceries to nearly 500 families, using <br />volunteers obtained from the SL Kindness website and they are partnering with local <br />producers to supply them directly with excess food and highlighted how the request for <br />food has increased. The Center received funds from the city for housing support for <br />families. The Jefferson childcare site is open with spots for essential workers. The <br />clinic continues to have outside testing. <br />SL Elder Care Alliance has a website that provides information on testing and other <br />information in multiple languages and is in the process of developing a two-sided <br />postcard type of mailer that will include phones numbers. They are looking at how to <br />share information about affected assisted care facilities, without causing harm. <br />School Districts <br />• San Leandro <br />• San Lorenzo <br />2.E. <br />San Leandro Unified School District provided an update on the food distribution <br />program, cleaning and disinfecting program, construction projects and distribution of <br />Chromebooks and the distance learning program. The district is developing plans for <br />when they are able to reopen for inperson learning in the fall and how they are working <br />with labor unions. The district is working to develop a virtual graduation program. <br />San Lorenzo Unified School District provided an overview of the Chromebook <br />distribution and what they are doing to assist those without Wi-Fi connections. There <br />are now four sites distributing meals daily. <br />Utilities2.F. <br />PG&E shared information on what the company is doing for COVID-19 and how they <br />are keeping staff safe, while also planning for the Public safety Power Shutoffs <br />(PSPS) and Community Resource Centers (CRC) and how to limit the impact, <br />including setting up a CRC at the Main Library. <br />Page 3City of San Leandro <br />146
