The site is zoned Professional <br />Office District. <br />7. Description of Project: <br />The project would demolish the existing medical office buildings on the 1.27-acre site and <br />develop a 34-foot-tall residential building containing 45 apartments. The project would also <br />include 55 off-street parking spaces, open space for residents, and sustainability features. <br />8. Surrounding Land Uses and Setting: <br />The project site is located in northeast San Leandro, on the eastern side of Bancroft Avenue, <br />between Estudillo Avenue to the north and Joaquin Avenue to the south. Across Estudillo <br />Avenue to the north is the Bancroft Middle School campus, to the northwest is a gas station, <br />to the west is a medical office building and a church, to the southwest is a convalescent <br />hospital, and to the south are single- and multi -family residences. Adjacent to the east of the <br />site are primarily single-family residences. <br />9. Other Public Agencies Whose Approval Is Required: <br />The City of San Leandro is the lead agency with responsibility for approving the project.
