While housed at <br />San Leandro Shelter, residents receive a range of services including <br />meals, on-site case management, housing search assistance, individual <br />therapy, life skills coaching, domestic violence and parenting support <br />groups, evening children’s activities and access to health care services. <br />Target Date 6/30/2020 <br />Estimate the number <br />and type of families <br />that will benefit from <br />the proposed activities <br />100 women and children clients annually. <br />Location Description San Leandro Shelter, 501 Davis Street, San Leandro CA <br />Planned Activities The capital improvement project will improve the program’s <br />accessibility for residents with mobility impairments, to enhance <br />safety of the facility, to protect and extend the life of the structure <br />and to increase the quality of life of the clients of the San Leandro <br />Shelter. This will be accomplished by replacing the exterior ramp, <br />stairs and entryway landing; rebuilding four bathroom shower stalls <br />and subfloors, including ADA shower stall; and replacing the floors in <br />the common area. <br />11 Project Name Rental Assistance Program <br />Target Area City-Wide <br />Goals Supported Community Development Needs Goals <br />Needs Addressed Community Development Needs - Public Services <br />Funding CDBG-CV Round I: $451,972 <br />CDBG-CV Round III: $768,193 <br />Description The City of San Leandro will establish a Rental Assistance Program <br />benefiting low- and moderate- income households (CDBG definition <br /><80% of the Area Median Income) who face eviction or financial <br />hardship as a result of COVID-19. The goal of this program is to <br />maintain housing stability of San Leandro residents. Current HUD <br />guidance allows for three months of rental housing assistance of CDBG <br />eligible recipient households.
