<br />Instruction and Improvement Services. Provision of instructional services or facilities, including
<br />photography, fine arts, crafts, dance or music studios, martial arts studios, and driving schools.
<br />
<br />Internet Sweepstakes Center. A commercial establishment which sells a service, such as the ability to
<br />browse the world wide web or Internet, create and print documents, shop online, play games, watch
<br />video and video-related media, fax documents, use telephone services, and also provides customers
<br />with promotional sweepstake entries to obtain a prize through predetermined odds via simulated
<br />casino-style games on a computer or other electronic device or via immediate disclosure on a
<br />computer or other electronic device or via immediate disclosure from an employee.

<br />Junior Accessory Dwelling Unit (JADU). See “Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU).”
<br />
<br />Junk Yard. An outdoor space where waste, discarded or salvaged materials in excess of the normal
<br />accumulation from the use of the premises are stored or handled.
<br />
<br />Kitchen. An area designed, intended or used for the preparation of food or a combination of facilities
<br />and appliances designed, intended or used for the preparation of food. The kitchen of a dwelling unit
<br />is typically that area inside the unit that serves as its primary food preparation area, and is
<br />characterized by the provision of both a refrigerator and range requiring either a 220-volt electrical
<br />connection, or is fueled by gas (e.g., LP gas, natural gas, white gas).
<br />
<br />Laboratories. Establishments providing medical or dental laboratory services; or establishments with
<br />less than 2,000 square feet providing photographic, analytical, or testing services. Other laboratories
<br />are classified as “Industry, Research and Development” or “Laboratories, Cannabis Testing Facilities.”
<br />
<br />Laboratories, Cannabis Testing Facilities. Laboratories conducting safety, quality control, and
<br />analytical testing services of cannabis and products derived from cannabis as a service to cannabis
<br />dispensaries, medical facilities, government agencies, cannabis product manufacturers, or other
<br />entities as allowed by State law. This definition includes cannabis testing and laboratory facilities
<br />requiring a Type 8 license from the State of California. This definition does not include the cloning,
<br />planting or cultivation of cannabis plants or the direct sales, distribution, delivery, or dispensing of
<br />cannabis and cannabis products to the public.
<br />
<br />Landscaping. An area devoted to or developed and maintained with native or exotic plantings, lawn,
<br />ground cover, gardens, trees, shrubs, and other plant materials, decorative outdoor landscape
<br />elements, pools, fountains, water features, paved or decorated surfaces of rock, stone, brick, block, or
<br />similar material (excluding driveways, parking, loading, or storage areas), and sculptural elements.
<br />Plants on rooftops or porches or in boxes attached to buildings are not considered landscaping.
<br />
<br />Landscaping, Interior. The shortest circumference of a landscaped area or areas defining the
<br />perimeter or exterior boundary of the parking or loading area, or similar paved area, excluding
<br />driveways or walkways providing access to the facility (as applied to parking and load facilities or to
<br />similar paved areas). Please refer to the Landscaping: Perimeter/Interior illustration.

<br />Landscaping, Perimeter. A landscaped area adjoining and outside the shortest circumferential line
<br />defining the exterior boundary of a parking or loading area, or similar paved area, excluding driveways
