Goals Supported Community Development Needs Goals Needs Addressed Community Development Needs - Public Facilities Funding CDBG: $143,725 Description The San Leandro Shelter is a 30-bed homeless shelter. While housed at San Leandro Shelter, residents receive a range of services including meals, on -site case management, housing search assistance, individual therapy, life skills coaching, domestic violence and parenting support groups, evening children's activities and access to health care services. Target Date 6/30/2020 Estimate the number 100 women and children clients annually. and type of families that will benefit from the proposed activities Location Description San Leandro Shelter, 501 Davis Street, San Leandro CA Planned Activities The capital improvement project will improve the program's accessibility for residents with mobility impairments, to enhance safety of the facility, to protect and extend the life of the structure and to increase the quality of life of the clients of the San Leandro Shelter. This will be accomplished by replacing the exterior ramp, stairs and entryway landing; rebuilding four bathroom shower stalls and subfloors, including ADA shower stall; and replacing the floors in the common area. 11 project Name Rental Assistance Program Target Area City -Wide Goals Supported Community Development Needs Goals Needs Addressed Community Development Needs - Public Services Funding CDBG-CV Round I: $451,972 CDBG-CV Round III: $768,193 Description The City of San Leandro will establish a Rental Assistance Program benefiting low- and moderate- income households (CDBG definition <80% of the Area Median Income) who face eviction or financial hardship as a result of COVID-19. The goal of this program is to maintain housing stability of San Leandro residents. Current HUD guidance allows for three months of rental housing assistance of CDBG eligible recipient households.
