October 22, 2020Disaster Council Minutes <br />Healthcare Services <br />• Hospitals <br />• Davis Street Family Resource Center <br />• Red Cross <br />• SL Elder Care Alliance <br />2.D. <br />Kaiser Hospital reported that they are focused on flu season and the drive thru clinic, <br />which has been successful. <br />San Leandro Hospital reported that they are promoting employee and community safety <br />by encouraging compliance with Health officer orders, to receive flu shots and to wear <br />masks. They continue to monitor the environment due to the high winds and <br />temperature because they can impact the internal conditions, such as the intake of <br />air. They promoted earthquake safety and the “drop, cover, hold on”, in lieu of <br />participating in the Great Shakeout. <br />Davis Street Family Resource Center and the Red Cross had no reports. <br />School Districts <br />• San Leandro <br />• San Lorenzo <br />2.E. <br />San Leandro Unified reported that the distance learning program is going well, staff and <br />principals are engaging students and families. The ASES program has been expanded <br />to include Monroe and Wilson, where 12 needy students can attend. The food <br />distribution program received authorization from the State and will able to continue <br />through the end of the school year. The District is continuing to review and follow all <br />the guidance from PHD, which is on the 14th version for re-opening guidance and they <br />are addressing all the requirements to reopen schools and working with labor unions in <br />order to develop the best ways to reopen schools. <br />San Lorenzo Unified reported that they are doing projects similar to SLUSD, including <br />virtual learning. In partnership with Kidango, pre-schools are open at elementary <br />schools. Food distribution occurs three days a week and a total of 7 days’ worth of <br />food is provided.
