September 17, 2020Disaster Council Minutes <br />The District has pushed out over 6500 Chromebooks and over 1000 hot spots. Food <br />distribution occurs M, W, & F at 7 sites for all student and include an early morning <br />distribution. 3000 meals are being distributed and 10,000 snacks weekly. <br />On 9/14, the afterschool education and safety program (ASES), had its first in person <br />session. The program is open to 12 elementary students, from 2 -6 pm M –F, at <br />Jefferson, opposite of the Davis Street, as a joint venture between SLUSD and Boys <br />and Girls Club of San Leandro. <br />Utilities <br />• PG&E <br />• EBCE <br />2.F. <br />PG&E reported out about the recent PSPS event that affected 22 counties, and which <br />Alameda County was going to be under, until winds shifted. While PG&E equipment is <br />not as robust as they want, PSPS events have helped to reduce the impact of the <br />fires. There are rolling blackouts due to the heat and PG&E hopes to provide <br />information about what areas will be out and for how long. These rolling blackouts are <br />due to fires impacting hydroelectric plants and is affecting the whole grid within <br />California and neighboring states. <br />PG&E was engaged in the fires within the County by bringing in firefighting equipment <br />to support firefighting efforts and to protect the equipment. The crews in the county <br />did amazing work to protect the community. <br />John thanked Catrina and Terri for securing the CRC sites and during COVID, the <br />company will be microsites, which is supported by a van and pop ups.
