Support sustainability programs and infrastructure that reduce energy usage, climate <br />vulnerability and risk, and emissions. Support climate programs that prioritize public health, <br />equity, frontline communities, and workforce development as part of a just transition. <br /> <br />CDBG and HOME Programs. Advocate to protect or enhance funding for Community <br />Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Act (HOME) programs to <br />more effectively address community development and affordable housing needs. Support <br />increased federal funding for critical HUD programs and housing opportunities. <br /> <br />Cyber Security. Support federal grant programs and other federal efforts designed to help states <br />and localities with cybersecurity. The State and Local Government Cybersecurity Act, introduced <br />in 2019, would allow the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center to <br />provide more tools to local governments, authorize the sharing of more classified information <br />with state and local governments, and create more training. Support legislation such as the State <br />and Local Government Cybersecurity Improvement Act that would create a new grant program <br />for States to address cybersecurity threats to the information systems of local governments. <br /> <br />COPS programs. Support efforts to identify federal funding for various local or regional law <br />enforcement initiatives through the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, or other <br />relevant federal agencies or programs. <br /> <br />COVID-19 response. Advocate for direct, flexible federal funding for cities of all sizes, including <br />San Leandro, to support the continued local response to the COVID-19 public health emergency <br />and efforts to mitigate spread of the virus. Funding should be available for all municipalities <br />towards expenses like personal protective equipment (PPE), adapting public facilities, and testing, <br />tracing, and distributing vaccines. Support direct, flexible funding to address all community needs <br />including housing, income, and food insecurity, especially for the most vulnerable. Support flexible <br />federal funding to address local revenue losses and avoid staffing and service reductions. <br /> <br />Department of Energy. Support efforts to develop innovative renewable energy, energy <br />efficiency, and energy storage projects to achieve energy security. <br /> <br />Economic Relief & Stimulus. Support additional aid for individuals, workers, small businesses, <br />and local governments. Advocate for an expansion of the Paycheck Protection Program, <br />Emergency Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Program for businesses, and other assistance for small <br />businesses. Support flexible direct aid for state & local governments and ensure equitable <br />distribution to all cities, particularly those with under 500,000 residents. Support the extension of <br />unemployment insurance benefits, the federal eviction moratorium, student loan relief, and <br />childcare benefits for the duration of the pandemic. Advocate for funding for rental and mortgage <br />assistance to prevent evictions. <br /> <br />Environmental Protection Agency. Support efforts to maintain programs such as Energy Star, <br />the Clean Water Act, the Clean Power Plan and other federal programs that protect the <br />environment, public health, or plants and wildlife. Support efforts to restore regulations designed <br />to protect the environment or endangered species, or mitigate the impacts of climate change. <br /> <br />Federal Aviation Administration.
