RESOLUTION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2020-150 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO APPROVE A CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH KIMLEY-HORN AND ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR THE DESIGN WORK OF THE WICKS BOULEVARD AND MANOR BOULEVARD SIGNAL UPGRADE PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $83,859, TO APPROPRIATE $42,359 FROM THE DEVELOPMENT FEES FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS FUND BALANCE AND TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE INDIVIDUAL CONTRACT AMENDMENTS UP TO 10% ($8,386) AND CUMULATIVE AMENDMENTS UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 25% ($20,965) WHEREAS, the City was awarded 2018 Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant funds to upgrade the traffic signal at the Wicks Boulevard and Manor Boulevard intersection; and WHEREAS, proposals were sought from consultants who specialize in design of traffic signals; and WHEREAS, after reviewing proposals from three consultants, staff recommends that Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. should be retained for design services for the traffic signal in the amount of $83,859; and WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to negotiate and approve Individual Contract Amendments up to 10% ($8,386) and Cumulative Amendments up to a maximum of 25% ($20,965); and WHEREAS, a Consulting Services Agreement for Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., a copy of which is attached, is presented to this City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents of the agreement; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval of said agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That said agreement is hereby approved and execution by the City Manager is hereby authorized; and That $42,359 in local matching fiends from Development Fees for Street Improvements (DFSI) fund balance reserves (Fund 120) shall be used to appropriate funds in to account 120- 38-349-5240_for Fiscal Year 2020-21; and That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to negotiate and approve individual contract amendments up to 10% ($8,386) and cumulative amendments up to a maximum of 25% ($20,965).
