RESOLUTION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021-005 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO <br />APPROVE A REDUCTION IN THE NUMBER OF VEHICLE TRAVEL LANES FROM <br />SIX TO FOUR AND INSTALLATION OF CLASS IV BICYCLE LANES ON <br />HESPERIAN BOULEVARD FROM FAIRMONT DRIVE TO SPRINGLAKE DRIVE <br />(PROVIDES FOR COUNCIL APPROVAL OF REPURPOSING ONE TRAVEL LANE <br />IN EACH DIRECTION ON HESPERIAN BOULEVARD FOR USE AS A CLASS IV <br />BICYCLE LANE) <br />WHEREAS, a traffic engineering report evaluating the impact of a reduction in the <br />number of travel lanes is presented to this City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is familiar with the contents thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the Engineering and Transportation Director recommends approval of a <br />reduction in travel lanes from three to two in each direction and installation of Class IV Bicycle <br />Lanes on Hesperian Boulevard from Fairmont Drive to Springlake Drive. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That Hesperian Boulevard from Fairmont Drive to Springlake Drive shall be restriped such <br />that there are two vehicle travel lanes and one Class IV bicycle lane in each direction; and <br />That there may be a future need to modify the roadway to meet the County's Congestion <br />Management Plan requirements. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Azevedo and passed and adopted this 41h day of January <br />2021, by the following vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Aguilar, Azevedo, Ballew, Cox, Lopez, Simon, Mayor Cutter (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />ATTEST: <br />i;elt,i La I iguel, Cit Clerk <br />
