December 2, 2020Facilities & Transportation <br />Committee <br />Minutes <br />There were no public comments. <br />DISCUSSION ITEMS3. <br />3.A.20-558 Hesperian Blvd Road Diet and Bike Lanes <br />COMMITTEE REQUESTS/DIRECTION TO STAFF: <br />a.Committee unanimously made a recommendation to implement a road diet on <br />Hesperian Boulevard and implement Class IV bike lanes in collaboration with regional <br />transportation partners. <br />b.Mayor Cutter would like staff to work with Alameda County Transportation <br />Committee to coordinate bike lane planning for Hesperian corridor. She also requests <br />that staff work with AC Transit to correct art panels that have been installed incorrectly <br />(upside down) at San Leandro BRT stations. <br />This matter was Received and Filed <br />3.B.20-559 Staff Update on Project and Land Development Projects <br />COMMITTEE REQUESTS/DIRECTION TO STAFF: <br />a.Mayor Cutter requests that staff report back on what is required to change a road <br />classification to reduce the speed limit. She also requests that staff investigate grant <br />funding for streetscape improvements. <br />This matter was Received and Filed <br />3.C.20-560 Discussion Regarding Future Agenda Items <br />COMMITTEE REQUESTS/DIRECTION TO STAFF: <br />a.Mayor Cutter requests that the naming of the Police Building be put on a future <br />Facilities and Transportation Committee meeting agenda. <br />b.Councilmember Cox requests that EBMUD present an update at a future City <br />Council meeting regarding ongoing work in San Leandro. <br />This matter was Received and Filed <br />COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS4. <br />Mayor Cutter requests that staff review and collaborate with Caltrans to create a plan <br />for sidewalk improvements along E. 14th Street. <br />Councilmember Cox requests that staff review BRT signage installed in front of City <br />Hall for clarity and to ensure that the signage was installed correctly. <br />Councilmember Lopez requests that staff work with BRT to review clarity of signage <br />installed recently in District 5. <br />ADJOURN5. <br />The meeting adjourned at 5:35 p.m. <br />Page 2City of San Leandro
