<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Proclamation Honoring Moira Fry, Loyal Community Servant <br />WHEREAS, Moira Fry was born in St. Louis Missouri; and <br />WHEREAS, Moira Fry worked at Project Eden as a drug counselor in the 1970s. She was also the first woman at <br />PG&E to be promoted to Electric Construction Supervisor in 1987 ; and <br />WHEREAS, Moira Fry and her husband moved to San Leandro in 1991 and their son was born in 1992 and raised <br />in the community. Moira was involved in chaperoning school field trips, supervising school e vents, helping with the little <br />league, and contributed to charitable causes; and <br />WHEREAS, Moira Fry began working with April Showers in 2008, a non-profit that helps homeless individuals by <br />providing dignity and resources. Moira volunteered to help with housing homeless people who were living in San Leandro, <br />and provided advice to our Homeless Compact Program; and <br />WHEREAS, Moira Fry works with Building Futures for Women and Children and our local warming shelter to aid <br />homeless people in the area. She also served on the Board of the Estudillo Estates Neighborhood Association, and on the <br />Board of Directors for the San Leandro Community Food Pantry ; and <br />WHEREAS, Moira Fry and her husband own BDM Electric, and she still volunteers to help others. Moira Fry shares <br />a vision for increasing coordinated response plans to help our most vulnerable community members and supports the goal of <br />creating a navigation center in San Leandro. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Mayor Pauline Russo Cutter do hereby celebrate, honor, and thank <br />Moira Fry for her many years of outstanding service to the San Leandro community. <br /> <br /> <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and <br />caused the Seal of the City of San Leandro to be affixed this <br />twenty-first day of June 2021. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />15
