April 9, 2020Disaster Council Minutes <br />There has been a reduction in 9-1-1 calls and transports. Logistics is able to fill 75% <br />of all requests and has moved the warehouse twice. Social Services is operating <br />Operation Comfort (for COVID positive) and Safer Ground (for those at high risk) for <br />unsheltered populations by referrals only. The Food Bank is providing a driver through <br />service on M, W, F. <br />Santa Rita Jail, new cases have come up. DA is following up on price gouging <br />complaints, as well as non-compliance. <br />Alameda County Fire Department is active in the County EOC, has policies in place <br />concerning higher cleaning of stations, use of PPE, limited movement of personal <br />between stations, and is fully staffed, as is Falck Ambulance. <br />San Leandro City <br />• San Leandro City Manager <br />• San Leandro Police <br />2.C. <br />Healthcare Services <br />• Hospitals <br />• Davis Street Family Resource Center <br />• Red Cross <br />2.D. <br />Kaiser Hospital reported that the surge is delayed for now and the hospital continues to <br />see patients with COVID and to do testing. <br />Davis Street Family Resource Center is still providing food through the food bank and <br />has given out ~100 bags with a week’s worth of food, and is staffed by two paid and <br />two volunteers. The clinic continues to see patients and providing testing. Childcare <br />is being provided at Jefferson and Lakeside centers and are working with the school <br />district to open up at Garfield. <br />Red Cross has modified their procedures to respond to disasters to accommodate <br />social distancing and appropriate handling of clients. The public can make an <br />appointment to donate blood. <br />School Districts <br />• San Leandro <br />• San Lorenzo <br />2.E. <br />San Leandro Unified School District is averaging 25,000 meals per week at all sites for <br />their food distribution, including during Spring Break. They provided 3500 <br />Chromebooks to students to assist in distance learning activities, which are going well. <br />Custodial staff have started the deep cleaning of all sites. All campuses are closed to <br />the public, except Washington Elementary due to City Park. Emotional support is <br />available for parents and students. The EOC is open and communicating with <br />partners. Catrina Christian has been phenomenal with providing us with valuable <br />information that assisting the district with planning for the future. <br />San Lorenzo Unified School District is continuing to transition to distance learning, with <br />the completion of a technology assessment and Chromebook distribution started on <br />3/31. There is still some technology device and internet connectivity issues with <br />20-33% of the students. Internet companies are overwhelmed and not responding to <br />requests.
