This is National Public Safety <br />Telecommunicators Week, please let the dispatchers know on social media that they <br />are doing a good job. <br />Healthcare Services <br />• Hospitals <br />• Davis Street Family Resource Center <br />• Red Cross <br />2.D. <br />Kaiser Hospital, in preparation for a surge, is erecting tents, monitoring staff, setting <br />up a curbside pick-up pharmacy and piloting a drive up program in Hayward. <br />San Leandro Hospital is working with the County to develop surge and fatality <br />management plans. They continue to monitor staff and PPE supplies. <br />Red Cross continues to participate in planning with the national headquarters to review <br />possible options for responding to need during large scale emergencies and have been <br />in contact with local fire chiefs to discuss disaster action teams. <br />Davis Street Family Resource Center received $15,000 for assistance to feed the <br />community, have provided 120 families 5 days’ worth of food, have been in <br />communication with Eden Health District about a test site in San Leandro. The <br />Jefferson and Lakeside childcare sites are open and have spots for essential workers, <br />which is funded by the Governor’s office and other sources. <br />Rose Gate Living is forming a San Leandro Elder Care Alliance in order to connect <br />senior living with services and resources, since there are 500 beds for assisting and <br />200+ skilled nursing beds within the city. The small facilities have had a lot of <br />challenges for meeting their supply needs and are working to set up a text alert system <br />to help identify where resources are available and to connect with other agencies. <br />School Districts <br />• San Leandro <br />• San Lorenzo <br />2.E. <br />San Leandro Unified School District reported that the meal distribution service is <br />successful and has seen a spike in the last couple of weeks, though they have been <br />able to meet the need. The District distributed over 3,600 Chromebooks and have <br />received good feedback from parents and staff regarding the distance learning <br />program.
