Sampling <br />location(s) shall be chosen as appropriate for the spill based on size and location. In the event of a spill the <br />site user shall choose an appropriate laboratory in which to test runoff samples. To collect a sample: <br />• Dip the sample bottle facing upstream until full <br />Immediately following sample collection: <br />• Cap sample container(s) <br />• Complete sample container labels <br />• Seal container(s) in a re -sealable storage bag <br />• Place sample containers into an ice -chilled cooler, all samples should be maintained at 0-6 degrees <br />Celsius during delivery to laboratory <br />• Document sample information <br />In order to maintain sample integrity and prevent cross -contamination, sample collection personnel shall <br />follow the protocols: <br />• Collect sample only in analytical laboratory -provided sample containers. <br />• Wear clean, powder -free nitrite gloves when collecting samples. <br />• Change gloves whenever something not known to be clean has been touched. <br />• Change gloves between sites. <br />7 <br />
