The purpose of this Ordinance is to reduce the amount of organic and recyclable materials <br />deposited in landfills from commercial and residential generators in accordance with <br />applicable law, including, SB 1383 and the regulations adopted to implement such laws. <br />B. This Chapter adopts and incorporates Ordinance No. 2021-001 of the Alameda County <br />Waste Management Authority, titled "Organics Reduction and Recycling Ordinance", as <br />may be amended, and as set forth in pertinent part in this Chapter. <br />C. The City of San Leandro is a "Member Agency" under the Ordinance. <br />D. The City Council may, by resolution, authorize and designate other entities to carry out <br />responsibilities under this Chapter, to the extent allowed by applicable law and <br />regulation, and no amendment of this Chapter shall be required. <br />3-24-200 Definitions <br />The following definitions govern the use of terms in this Ordinance: <br />(a) "Alameda County" means all of the geographical areas located within the incorporated and <br />unincorporated areas of Alameda County whereas "County of Alameda" or "County" <br />refers to the public entity, a body corporate and politic of the State of California. <br />(b) "Back -Haul" means generating and transporting Organic Waste to a destination owned and <br />operated by a generator using the generator's own employees and equipment, or as <br />otherwise defined in 14 CCR Section 18982(a)(66)(A). <br />
