RESOLUTION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO.2021-174 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO CITY COUNCIL TO <br />APPROPRIATE UP TO $210,000 TOWARDS UPCOMING 150TH ANNIVERSARY <br />CELEBRATIONS AND A POTENTIAL CITY COUNCIL TRIP TO VISIT SISTER <br />CITY PONTA DELGADA, PORTUGAL <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro was incorporated in 1872; and <br />WHEREAS, the 2022 calendar year will commemorate 150 years of San Leandro's <br />incorporation, otherwise known as its sesquicentennial; and <br />WHEREAS, in an effort to celebrate this notable milestone, the City Council desires to <br />plan and execute various related events and deliverables that could include City Council district <br />events, a birthday party event around the anniversary date, special activities in collaboration with <br />the historical society, and/or a notable presence at the 2022 Cherry Festival; and <br />WHEREAS, in addition to the above -described activities, the City Council also desires to <br />enable its members to travel to Ponta Delgada, Portugal, which is a long-standing Sister City of <br />San Leandro since 1970. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby RESOLVES <br />that: <br />The City Council authorizes an appropriation of up to $210,000 from undesignated General Fund <br />reserves to off -set the costs of the above -referenced activities, which shall be programmed in the <br />following budgetary accounts: <br />010-11-010-5120 (City Council consulting): $170,000 <br />010-11-010-5512 (City Council travel): $40,000 <br />Introduced by Mayor Cutter and passed and adopted this 61h day of December 2021, by the <br />following vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Aguilar, Azevedo, Ballew, Cox, Lopez, Mayor Cutter (6) <br />NOES: Councilmember Simon (1) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />ATTEST: <br />tici I. iguel, C y Clerk <br />
