General Exceptions to Height Limits. The maximum height of a structure, other than in the RS-VP <br />District, shall be subject to the regulations of Section 4.04.320 Exceptions to Height Limits. <br />B. Additional Height Restriction in RO District. Any portion of a dwelling located within 20 feet of the <br />rear lot line shall not exceed 15 feet in height. <br />C. Additional Height Restrictions in RS-VP Sub -District. <br />1. Alternate Definition to Measure Maximum Height of Structure in RS-VP Sub -District. <br />Notwithstanding the definition of "Height" in Section 1.12.108 Definitions, the height of a <br />structure in the RS-VP sub -district shall not exceed a height of 18 feet, as defined below: <br />a. Establishing Maximum Building Height. The 18-foot height limit is established by <br />an assumed plane 18 feet above existing grade, as measured perpendicularly from <br />the existing grade. Except for chimneys, vents, and non-commercial reception <br />antennas, no portion of the structure, including any part of the roof, may exceed <br />this 18 feet height limit. (See illustration "Examples of 18 Foot Height Limit.") <br />b. Documenting Compliance with Maximum Building Height. Applicants shall <br />illustrate the proposal's height by providing no less than two sectional views, <br />drawn through the proposed structure and perpendicular to existing contours, one <br />of which shall illustrate the tallest point of the structure (i.e., where the structure <br />would be at its maximum height above "existing grade"), and the other being drawn <br />at approximately the center of the structure. <br />2.
