The Department is also looking forward to the end of a crazy fire season, with 6” of <br />snow falling in the Sierras recently <br />City of San Leandro <br />• San Leandro City Manager <br />• San Leandro Police <br />• Other City Departments <br />2.C. <br />City Manager Office had no updates. <br />San Leandro Police reported that within the city, there have been 7,289 COVID cases <br />and 94 deaths, 70,930 (92.3%) have received their first dose and 66,732 (86.6%) are <br />fully vaccinated. Catrina has been checking on the emergency supply storage units <br />and will be updating the supplies in the future. Pizza with the Cops was a success. <br />The City participated in the Great Shakeout with over 100 employees participating in <br />the “drop, cover and hold on” and evacuation drills at City Hall complex (including <br />SLUSD staff), Main Library (where public members participated), Marina Community <br />Center, and Water Pollution Control Plant. It went well. Some learning points have <br />been identified, which makes it a good exercise. An employee survey has gone out to <br />capture feedback. <br />The Library reported that it was a great event to participate in the Great Shakeout and <br />to do a live drill. <br />Healthcare Services <br />• Hospitals <br />• Davis Street Family Resource Center <br />• Red Cross <br />• SL Elder Care Alliance <br />2.D. <br />Kaiser Hospital reported that they will be hosting a vaccine shot, booster and flu shot <br />clinic in partnership with SLzUSD at San Lorenzo High on October 27. A $25 gift card <br />will be giving to those receiving their first vaccination or their booster shot. People are <br />encouraged to get their flu shot and booster. Kaiser is preparing for the final approval <br />to provide vaccines for the 5–11-year-olds and how to set up different sites. People <br />should check the CDC guidelines to see if they qualify for a booster. <br />Red Cross reported that they have been involved in installing smoke alarms.
