City of San Leandro <br />A-52 <br />(3) All dwelling unit entranceways located in the interior of a site shall <br />be accessed from a pedestrian walkway that is a minimum of four <br />feet wide and connects to a public sidewalk. <br />3. Encroachments into Required Setbacks, Residential Uses. In addition to the building <br />encroachments allowed pursuant to Section 4.04.312, Building Projections into Yards and <br />Courts, the following projections into required front or corner side yards are allowed for <br />residential uses, subject to all applicable requirements of the Building Code. <br />ALLOWED ENCROACHMENTS INTO REQUIRED SETBACKS, RESIDENTIAL USES <br />Feature Allowed Projection into Front <br />or Corner Side Yard <br />Limitations <br />Uncovered stairs, guardrails, handrails, ramps, stoops, landings, decks, porches, balconies, and platforms <br />All elements six feet or less <br />above ground elevation <br />10 feet <br />All elements more than six feet <br />above ground elevation <br />7 feet <br />Covered porches and patios 7 feet Must be unenclosed on three sides <br /> <br />4. Building Design. Buildings shall include the following design features to create visual <br />variety and avoid a large-scale and bulky appearance. <br />a. Minimum Depth of Overhanging Eaves. Overhanging eaves, if provided, shall <br />extend a minimum of two feet beyond the supporting wall. <br />b. Roof Line. Roof lines shall be varied and designed to minimize the bulk of a <br />building, screen roof-mounted equipment, and enhance the building’s architectural <br />design through the following methods: <br />i. A minimum of one roof line offset of at least 18 inches in height and 20 <br />feet in length shall be provided for every 150 feet of façade length. <br />577
